We are Eco-friendly
Moortown House is heated by sustainably sourced wood chips and waste wood, and we are in the process of getting PV panels.
The woodlands and parkland around the house are a haven for wildlife. Beehives are stationed in the parkland. They love the wildflowers which we grow.
We have many owls and you will be able to hear them calling to each other. Other birds of prey thriving in the area are Red Kite, Buzzards, Falcons and Sparrow Hawk. Also, deer pass through, see if you can spot them early morning or at dusk.
We practice Conservation Agriculture techniques on our farm, which helps to sequester Carbon, so it is good for the planet.
Local shop / petrol station
The nearest shop is the Co-op at Caistor (open 0700-2200h daily except Sunday – closes at 1600h)
The nearest EV charging spot is also at the Co-op in Caistor
The nearest petrol stations are Shacklocks at Caistor and Tesco at Brigg, the latter being 24-7.

Dog-Friendly
Moortown House is dog-friendly. We welcome one well-behaved dog. Many of the pubs and attractions in the area are dog-friendly and there are lots of lovely walks for you all to enjoy in the area.
WiFi & mobile phone reception
Like many rural areas, phone reception can be mixed. All networks can get a signal in or around the house, as far as we are aware.
The broadband is supplied by satellite dish. The thick walls mean that the Wifi in certain parts of the house can be inconsistent.
Parking
The designated parking area is signposted, which is visible as you reach the top of the drive. Guests are asked not to park in front of the house unless loading/unloading. This means that any delivery/emergency vehicles are able to turn.
What's included
We provide: dishwasher tablets, washing-up liquid, scourers, oven-gloves, tea towels, washing machine detergent, body wash, wash basin soap, shower mats & WC roll. Hand sanitizer is available inside the front door.
Towels (but please bring your own pool towels) & Bath robes.
Wood can be supplied upon request should you wish to use the lounge fireplace.
Gas is supplied for the BBQ
Wood is supplied for the Fire-pit.
